Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of rehabilitation that mainly deals with the many 'reflex points' found in the feet, hands, and ears that relate to certain organs, glands and body parts.

Using specific techniques; a therapist will stimulate those reflex points to promote health and vitality in the organ, gland or body part via the body's energy pathways. Reflexology is know to be a profoundly relaxing treatment which can be felt throughout the entire body.

Pressure

The Reflexologist is attuned to the body's requirements and applies pressure accordingly. Stress removal is the first priority; followed by enhancing circulation. Pressure exerted by the reflexologist usually ranges from 0 to 10 pounds.

Length of Treatment

A complete session on both feet is always performed. Depending upon the reflexologists level of experience and the client's requirements, sessions will last between 45 mins to 60 minutes.

Who could benefit from Reflexology?

Reflexology is not only a powerful form of preventative therapy, but also works as a complementary therapy in case of existing medical conditions being treated by another form of medicine

Reflexology - How it Works

When the reflexes are stimulated, the body's natural electrical energy works along the nervous system to clear any blockages in the corresponding zones. A reflexology session seems to break up deposits (felt as a sandy or gritty area under the skin) which may interfere with this natural flow of the body's energy.

Manipulating specific reflexes removes stress, activating parasympathetic response in the body to enable the disharmonies to be released by a physiological change in the bdy. With the stress removed and circulation improved, the body is allowed to return to a state of homeostasis.
